Sarah Gautam – Founder and Head of the Department (HOD) for Women and Children presented the formal reports on the situation of Human Trafficking of women and children in Nepal and the efforts made by 3 AN to protect women and children.
She emphasized the need for joint efforts to put a stop to Human Trafficking and violation of a Child’s or Woman’s rights which is ominous at present. Sealing of open borders, strong laws to protect women and children, respect for Human Rights needs to be addressed immediately by the Government of Nepal. Sarah also pointed out various challenges faced by 3 AN while trying to protect women and children from their vulnerable state.
Sarah stated that Public perspective towards NGOs and INGOs needs to be changed to support them for the good work they try to do in building this Nation. It is indeed a battle to fight against Human trafficking and child protection in this country which need not be this way if the Government comes up with a strong law to prosecute traffickers. She ended giving thanks to all the supporters of 3 Angels Nepal to make the mission of Rescue Prevention and Rehabilitation a success thus far.
