“Dr. Rajendra Gautam, an Adventist Lay Pastor and the founder/CEO of 3 Angels Nepal has been awarded with “National Hero award 2016” in Kathmandu Nepal; on the auspicious occasion of the International Human Trafficking Day 5th September 2016.

Mrs. Sushila Karki, the Honorable chief justice of the supreme court of Nepal handed the prize and the award in the presence of high-level government officials and amidst thousands of people invited to witnessing the ceremony. ”

Since the nomination, there had been a lot of voices against a Christian man to be awarded with such a huge “National Hero Award” the cabinet had to finally approve it after they have made intense investigations on Rajendra.

Rajendra was as extremely surprised to receive this award as it was not something that he knew he had been nominated for until a few days before. He very much wishes to pass on his gratitude to all the hard working team at 3 Angels Nepal that work tirelessly to put an end to Human Trafficking. Some of the staff have faced personal harm and many face daily threats from traffickers but they are determined to fight for the rights of those less fortunate than themselves especially women and children. To each and everyone of them he passes on an enormous thank you as they share this award.

To the many donors worldwide and to our partners who make the work of  3AN a reality he also says enormous thanks. Without you our work would not be possible. Thank you on behalf of the women and children of Nepal.

Rajendra being chosen as “National Hero for Nepal 2016” is the pinnacle of awards won by 3AN.
